Wood Laminate Flooring - Advantages Of Hardwood At Affordable Prices

Wood laminate flooring
looks like wood, but is more durable and comes with a comfortable price tag. This kind of flooring is gradually gaining popularity among the new generation. As pure hardwood flooring is something, which very few can afford so the manufacturers have come up with this innovative solution called laminate flooring.

Wood laminate floors are made from a high-pressure laminate surface and are backed by fiberboard. The thickness of laminated floors varies between 1/2”, 3/8” and 7mm. These laminate floors come in a wide range of a style and finish. Some of the laminate floors simulate natural wood finishes. The price of laminate wood flooring is quite reasonable and it is nearly ¼th of the cost of hardwood floors.

So, one of the biggest advantages of laminate wood floors in comparison to the hardwood floors is its cheaper price tag. This makes the former one affordable and popular. Laminated floors are much harder, stable and scratch resistant. They do not show signs of wear and tear and hence do not need refinishing or sanding. However, if required, it is difficult to repair a laminate flooring since the damage is not easily fixable.

Unlike its hardwood counterpart, the laminated floors can be installed in moisture prone as well as dry areas. Laminate floors do not emanate PCB or do not entail carbon-di-oxide and hence is not inductive to allergies. The cleaning of these floors is an easy task, as it requires only vacuuming and occasional mop cleaning.

One of the hybrid varieties of laminate flooring is the laminate hardwood flooring. It contains a hardwood veneer of 0.6mm to 4.5mm thickness and three or more core layers. It looks just like natural hardwood but is much more durable and cheaper.
