Restoring hardwood floors help in keeping your old floors shining
Nowadays many consider their old hardwood floors as a rich showpiece of wood and are interested in restoring hardwood floors. Many owners are thinking of restoring and refurbishing their hardwood floors to bring back the lost glory in them. The cause for restoring hardwood floor is because they offer better quality wood than the recent varieties available in the market. The old hardwood floors are made up of much older trees that have denser and tighter grain patterns.
The better variety of lumber for flooring is still available in the market but at a much higher price. Another variety of rich flooring wood is Heart Pine. With time, grime and wax can develop on your wood floor making it look dull and dirty. Sweeping the floor alone does not help to keep the floor clean. Using a vacuum cleaner with non-scratching nozzle to clean the floor effectively often helps to restore the lost shine. The mild dishwashing detergent, with no ammonia and tri-sodium phosphate, can also be applied on your hardwood floors.
To clear out the stains, you can use nylon scrub brush in small sections on floors and then dry the area with clean dry towel. Never leave your floor damp, as this will be a big problem in the restoration process. You can also add floor wax or good liquid wax and polish your floor with buffing machine to add luster.
