If started without due preparation, hardwood flooring installations can be a challenging job. However, if you arrange the necessary information and proceed to install a hardwood floor in a systematic manner you might not have any major installation problems.
After choosing, ordering and receiving your hardwood floor, you have to remove all previous coverings and clean the floor space to a near dust-free condition. Then check the entire hard sub-floor by walking along each joist and repair all flooring defects. The new hardwood floor should run perpendicular to the direction of the joists.
The floor boards should be kept off the baseboard or other trim to allow expansion of the hardwood flooring and the layout must be made accordingly. Start laying the flooring either from one wall or from the center after proper marking and layout. Remember, the walls may not be parallel and apt for all variations found.
